Amazon API Data Authorization Process

Instructions for authorizing API connections to Amazon Vendor Central, Seller Central, and Amazon Advertising APIs.

Authorizing Vendor Central API Access

  1. Navigate to the Data Authorization page in the Analytic Index App: https://app.analyticindex.com/account/authorizations
  2. Click Add Authorization button
  3. Select Amazon Vendor Central
  4. Select the Marketplace that you are authorizing 
    1. NOTE: If marketplaces in different regions are being authorized, each region will need to be authorized separately.

  5. Click Authorize button
  6. A popup window will prompt you to login to your Vendor Central account
  7. Authorize the Analytic Index app’s access
  8. Select which account you want to import this data to in the Analytic Index app.
  9. Once authorized the data will be imported into the Analytic Index system and is typically available within the next 2 business days.

Authorizing Seller Central API Access

  1. Navigate to the Data Authorization page in the Analytic Index App: https://app.analyticindex.com/account/authorizations
  2. Click Add Authorization button
  3. Select Amazon Seller Central
  4. Select the Marketplace that you are authorizing 
    1. NOTE: If marketplaces in different regions are being authorized, each region will need to be authorized separately.

  5. Click Authorize button
  6. A popup window will prompt you to login to your Seller Central account
  7. Allow the Analytic Index app’s access
  8. Select which account you want to import this data to in the Analytic Index app.
  9. Once authorized the data will be imported into the Analytic Index system and is typically available within the next 2 business days.

Authorizing Amazon Advertising API Access

  1. Navigate to the Data Authorization page in the Analytic Index App: https://app.analyticindex.com/account/authorizations
  2. Click Add Authorization button
  3. Select Amazon Ads
  4. Select the Marketplace that you are authorizing 
  5. Click Authorize button
  6. A popup window will prompt you to login to your Amazon Advertising account
  7. Authorize the Analytic Index app’s access
  8. Select which account you want to import this data to in the Analytic Index app. 
    1. NOTE: if your advertising account has access to multiple advertising accounts they will each be displayed in the Analytic Index app and you will need to map each account to import to a specific Analytic Index account. If you do not want certain data imported then select the not imported option in the dropdown.
  9. Once authorized the data will be imported into the Analytic Index system and is typically available within the next 2 business days.

Why we need API data access?

Analytic Index uses API data from client accounts to provide insights into search, advertising, sales, traffic, and conversion performance. The data is combined with Analytic Index proprietary metrics to also provide extrapolated estimates of advertising spend and category sales share. Any data coming from these API connections is never shared with any other party other than the client providing access to the API. You can revoke access to the data at any time via the Analytic Index app or via the Amazon vendor/seller/ads account. 

What data is being imported?

Analytic Index imports sales, traffic, inventory, promotions, and advertising reports data. No changes are made to any Amazon accounts in this process. Any data coming from these API connections is never shared with any other party other than the client providing access to the API. You can revoke access to the data at any time via the Analytic Index app or via the Amazon vendor/seller/ads account.
