October 2026: Walmart Search Volume Update and Restatement
Search Volume is a modeled estimate for every retailer. It combines retailer search data where available, Analytic Index's daily search crawl, broader e-commerce search signals, and retailer traffic estimates. Search Volume is directional for all retailers.
- Amazon (US, CA, EU): Modeled primarily from Amazon search data.
- Walmart US (new as of October 19, 2026): Modeled from a Walmart-specific keyword dataset. History is restated back to March 2024.
- All other retailers (e.g., Target, Kroger, Walmart CA): Modeled from broader e-commerce search behavior, adjusted for each retailer's traffic and category focus.
Walmart US: What's Changed
Beginning October 19, 2026, Walmart.com Search Volume and Search Visibility are built from a Walmart-specific keyword dataset that reflects how shoppers actually search on Walmart.com. This replaces our previous cross-retailer modeling approach for Walmart. The result is estimates that better represent Walmart shopper behavior.
Restated history: Walmart data is restated back to February 18, 2024. Data before March 2024 remains on the previous methodology, so trend lines and year-over-year comparisons that span March 2024 may show a step change.
During the update: The restatement may begin processing on Friday, October 16. Walmart Search Volume and Search Visibility may appear inconsistent until the update completes on Monday, October 19.
What you may notice: We recommend re-pulling any saved Walmart exports or QBR figures that rely on Search Volume or Search Visibility.
